Silk Scarves

Wrap yourself in nature

Botanical Colors Infused in Silk

When everything slowed down, alone with time to wonder, I fell in love with botanical colors. I began learning about natural dyes and plant pigments during quarantine and experimenting with trees close to Sayulita. I've found the most amazing magic in a simple leaf collected along a morning walk.

Elegant Silk Scarves

These naturally-dyed silk scarves are made from freshly foraged leaves. Each scarf is a unique expression of a collaboration with nature and the alchemy of the plants—eucalyptus, teak, marigolds, iron and rust, roses, time, and rainwater.

Color Crazy for New Cups

I went a little color crazy with my new cups. But I just love them...
I hope you do too!

Thinking about cups?

Coming Soon

In spite of Sayulita's steamy summer days and the power outages that accompany the storms, I kept my fans on high and made a big new collection of dishes. Coming soon for sale to my web shop.

Gallery Season 7

Art is a bridge to the hearts of others. It gives us entry to a world without borders. Paintings are windows; they allow us to gaze shamelessly through the eyes of another. Feel free to stare.

In the gallery

2017 started off fast and furious in the gallery. We have a new look for the outside and a clean and spacious inside. Carolina, Melisa and myself have met many travelers as they've visited Sayulita.
The gallery is stocked with a fresh line of seductively comfortable clothing, dynamic dishes for everyday, luminous prints, and fine art.

Brunch Clothing

This is the fourth season of Brunch clothing, my creative fashion collaboration with Heidi Sowa. The clothing is a mixture of textiles digitally printed with my paintings and hand painted bamboo fabric. I snapped a few fun pictures on a recent beach trip, and also subjected  unsuspecting gallery  visitors to modeling duty.  I love how these clothes make you feel!

What rises

I'm living in Manzanita, a small coastal town in Oregon, with the two dogs, Wally and Luna. They're good company, along with the ocean's edge, which feels familiar, although different, from Sayulita.

Work rises bringing small environments, spaces, interiors—to light.

Studio Visit and Interview

A window into my studio life

Picture

Several months ago I had the pleasure of a studio visit and interview with Luz Herrera, from the Canal del Puerto, a local organization that celebrates and promotes the arts and culture of Puerto Vallarta and surrounding regions.

The interview is part of a series “Creadores en Construcción” which visits the studios of artists in the region to take a more in depth view of the processes and practices that go into the work.

The video is a window into my studio life, and visually weaves together the paintings, ceramics and clothing I create along with sharing some of my early influences.

My work is language made visual. It speaks from my internal world of curiosities and concerns, drawing deeply from the well of our collective human experience. A creative journey—Each object, from painting, to cup, or garment represents a creative journey of intention, purpose and chance. Celebrate connection. Invoke a feeling. Be immersed in myth and meaning.
