Write to the Heart
Get calm, let loose, dive deep.
Write to the Heart is a loose, intuitive writing and listening practice. Using the energy and emotion of a poem, we use prompts to write as quickly as possible, sifting through the layers of our daily lives and experiences to access our creative unconscious.
We share what we write. We listen with presence. We witness what arises. We don't offer praise, feedback or critique.
This is a gentle space for brave writing. Brave writing is the willingness to share honestly, how you are, right now.

let your heart breathe
We use poetry and prompts to alchemize the stories of our daily lives into a shared creative journey.

the process
-
I read a poem while you listen.
-
I give you a few jump-off lines to get started.
-
We write for short bursts of time (5-15 minutes).
-
I keep the time while we keep our pens moving. We write as fast as we can without editing our thoughts or words (I’m always surprised by what happens, I think you will be too).
-
We all then take turns reading aloud what we wrote, and repeat the process three times.
-
We write as poorly as possible. There’s no striving for perfection.
-
We just show up, as we are, and tell the truth.
-
This is a writing practice for anyone. You don't have to be a professional Writer (but you can be) to Write for the Heart.
-
At the end of our sessions, if we are stirred by something someone has shared, we ask, ‘May I reference your writing?’ before commenting or questioning further.
-
This is a space to relax and explore.
-
Together, we alchemize the stories of our daily lives into a shared creative journey.

A shared creative journey—one where you feel seen, heard, and deeply connected to your own heart and others.
Yes! I want to join in.

Write to the Heart is based on Wild Writing, a practice created over 30 years ago by my trailblazing teacher, Laurie Wagner. I’ve been writing with her since 2021, and began her teacher training in January 2025. I look forward to sharing this transformational writing practice with you!
